A lot of these chapters really talk about the different playing groups and how mostly black and white girls segregate themselves with the exception of Anna. She seems to want to play with everyone and ends of being the leader of most of the activities but tends to get fed up with always having to make all the decisions and new play ideas. I think that segregation among the groups is only natural because they are so used to who they may play with at home or who there parents allow them to play with. Also it shows with cultural differences and where they came from or how they may talk, contributes to who they may play with. These chapters also talk about the one problem child, Sylvia and how she tends to hurt classmates and have temper issues.I feel as if the teacher always seems so unsure of herself and not confident in how she punishes or handles situations. I think that as a teacher it's hard to know how to handle certain things but as long as you treat everyone fairly I think that's key. I think that obviously with experience you will learn how to handle different children but I think her problem is that after she may punish someone she re-thinks it and thinks well maybe they have a problem or is going threw a hard time in life. I think that the way the teacher handles things and the way she talks to the children like they are adults is a good thing because they are trying to be older than they are and they want to be treated like adults. I agree that the doll corner does show sophisticated play for the girls and the blocks and costume making for the boys because this shows the high level of thinking like how to solve things and work together. It shows that they learn from at home and the environment around them.
